In the past, payment only use cash. But now, electronic payments replaced the cash. Credit cards, checks, octopus cards and mobile payment are commonly used.

 My name is Lau Cheuk Wing, Venus. I am a Year 3 student of Hotel Operations Management in THEi. I have learmt Chinese painting for more than nine years. I have studied science subjects in my secondary school. In the summer holiday, I usually work part-time for earning different experiences. In the previous months, I worked part-time in the 2016 by-census. I have met different types of people and made many new friends. There are precious memories after this part-time.

 

Moreover, during the previous summer holiday, I have travelled to QingTao for five days with my family. There are many farmlands and rivers in the city. The sceneries are totally different from Hong Kong. We have visited Taishan Mountain, beer factory and the valley of kite. In the valley of kite, there are kites and traditional crafts which are all handmade.

When we visited the Taishan Mountain, the weather was not sunny. There was mist surrounding us. It was different to see the way in front of us and it was easily to get lose at the peak. Although the weather was not good, we can still see many rocks with different shapes and words nearby. Finally, we got all wet when we down the mountain.

In the beer factory, we can know more about the manufaturing the beer. This was a session for the customers to try the fresh beer and nuts. The tastes were really different from that we tasted in Hong Kong or at the restaurants.

We have stayed in Sheraton Hotel for two nights in the trip. The hotel has provided free wifi for the guests when they were staying in the hotel. The staff were very nice and polite. And there were bell attendence helped us to carry our luggage to our room.

 

In this era, technology is commonly used in hotel industry. Many services are provides online for the guests to book the rooms at anytime and  anywhere. For the hotel e-marketing, the hotels usually use their official website, Facebook and Instagram to promote their discounts and facilities. Sometimes, the hotel will coorperate with different companies to offer special discounts such as buffet and high-tea coupons.
